Manning Dong studied Ballet Performance at the Shanghai Theatre Academy and began her career as a soloist with Suzhou Ballet, where she won First Prize and the Best Performance Award at the Ballet Grand Prix Vienna. She later studied contemporary dance in Austria and earned her Master’s degree in Choreography at the Zurich University of the Arts. She has worked as an assistant at the Semperoper Dresden, participated in the ATLAS Choreography Programme at ImPulsTanz Vienna, and presented her own works at venues such as Gessnerallee and Kulturmarkt. A certified Gyrokinesis® trainer, Manning’s artistic practice combines physicality, sociality, and self-reflection to create works that connect with audiences on an emotional level.
